Why Redistricting Matters
Every ten years, congressional district lines are redrawn after the census. The way those lines are drawn determines which communities share representation — and can entrench or dilute political power. Missouri has gone from 16 districts in 1820 to 8 today, and the battles over where to draw the lines have never stopped.
This project puts the tools of redistricting in your hands. No party affiliation required — just curiosity about how democracy works at the most fundamental level.
